A New Circus Space in Abergavenny?

Since 2019, Dance Blast has provided circus classes for all ages and abilities. Currently, over 180 individuals attend a weekly aerial class, between the ages of 5yrs and 60yrs of all abilities.

 

We are hoping to find:-

 

* A venue that can provide more community classes

* A space large enough and high enough to offer advanced circus skills

* Somewhere to expand the activities we offer disabled members of our community

* A circus performance space

* A place to offer exciting projects to other community groups

* Somewhere to expand the activities we can offer disabled members of our community.

* A Creation Space for our youth circus and visiting circus professionals

 

Dance Blast will continue to be based at our beautiful dance studios on the Melville site in Pen Y Pound. We are hoping to expand not move completely.

Dance Blast has been looking at the Baker Street Cinema building with a view to creating an exciting new community venue. There is great potential at Baker Street to provide our community with a circus space and more. Alongside an exciting circus space we could provide a venue for other community activities such as a community cinema and/or an exhibition space for visual artists. We are aware that members of our community have previously campaigned to keep a community cinema on the site.
