MYDC announce commissioned choreographer for Ignite 2014-15, Chloe Loftus.

We are delighted that the MYDC members have chossen Chloe Loftus to be one of the commissioned choreographers for this years fantsatic Ignite project. Chloe will be working with MYDC from 25th-29th October 2014 creating an exciting new dance work involving crash matts!

Italian born and New Zealand bred, Chloe Loftus emigrated to the UK in 1997 where she completed a BA (Hons) in Dance Performance at Middlesex University, London.

Alongside working internationally as a freelance dancer, Chloe choreographs and performs for her own company, Chloe Loftus Dance, formed in 2005. On moving to Cardiff in 2006, the company won Welsh Independent Dance’s ‘Dance Bytes’ and went on to gain Arts Council of Wales, PRSF, Articulture and Kevin Spacey Foundation funding to create and tour work nationally alongside numerous other commissions in both community and professional environments. Recent projects have included working alongside directors Roy Campbell-Moore and Geoff Moore, commissions for Cultural Olympiad projects, performances for the National Eisteddfod, Festival No. 6 and a collaboration with the Welsh School of Architecture.

Chloe Loftus Dance has been creating new exciting choreographic work that engages the public eye for almost a decade, recently becoming Associate Artist / Dance Buddy at the Wales Millennium Centre, supported by the Aberystwyth Arts Centre and in 2013 nominated for a Theatre Critics of Wales Award for Best Small Scale Dance Production.
