Topsy Turvy'
2026 - A site Dance and Circus spectacle performed by the Dance Blast community. Working with One Truck Pony and their beautiful big top tent at Gilwern Outdoor Education Centre. This performance explored the theme 'Circus Makes The Impossible Possible', and has been one of Dance Blast's biggest projects to date. With commissions from Jake Nwogu and wardrobe by Ruth Stringer and volunteers from RWCMD. Click here to our 'Topsy Turvy' page.
MYDC/Beat Technique Collaboration
2025/2026 - In Autumn 2025 MYDC collaborated with Beat Technique's Dean Yhnell. Working with local young musicians Dean composed an original track of music using beat boxing, sound scores and mixes for a work in progress MYDC piece 'Shadows'. The following Spring MYDC and Beat Technique along with the local musicians came back together to create a new work titled 'Could AI?'. The choreography and concept for 'Could AI?' came from two young members of MYDC. This piece was performed as part of a Triple Bill at Dance Blast, and was made possible with funding through MCC Creative Futures.
'Ysbrydoli/Inspire'
2025 - A site specific Dance and Aerial Circus performance at Abergavenny Castle. Dance Blast groups, MYDC, MYCC, MCDC, Atomic Advance, Boys Blast and DanceAbility Chepstow all came together for a powerful performance rooted in local stories, history, and movement. There were commissions from Acro-Dance duo 'Joli Vyann' and Kevin Turner MBE, Co-Artistic Director of ‘Company Chameleon’. 2024 - A professional development training project in partnership with
Ransack Dance Company. Involving MYDC, MCDC, Dance Blast Tutors, Ransack Dancers & 3 Independent Dance Artists. Funded by ACW
'Fan Hyn'
2024 - A site specific performance piece directed and choreographed by Elle Kate and Kim Noble. Performed by MYDC and MCDC. for our 'Fan Hyn' page and documentary. Funded by ACW
'Day Dream Supreme'
2023 - Performance at Green Man Festival as the main evening performance on the Back of Beyond stage. 'Day Dream Supreme' was produced by Dance Blast and performed by MYDC, MYCC, professional artists and students from Circomedia. Students from the Royal College of Music and Drama supported the design of this aerial circus and dance spectacular. for film and images. Commissioned by Greenman Trust
'Rekindle'
2021-2022 - 3 performance pieces produced and choreographed by guest artists and performed at CultVR in Cardiff.

'1404'
2018-2019 - MYDC and MCDC perform together in a tale of revolution directed by Citrus Arts. This was a site specific piece based at the Dance Blast and Melville site. for film. Funded by ACW
'Ignite'
'Ignite' is a unique youth dance development project, and the beginning of how we work our ACW performance projects since.
Each year members of MYDC and MCDC commission professional choreographers to create new dance works with them. Members lead the whole process from shortlisting and auditioning candidates to making the final decision on which choreographers to commission. Each commissioned choreographer follows a very different process. The project culminates in exciting public performances. Click for and .
