Monmouthshire Ballet Associates (MBA)

Monmouthshire Ballet Associates is Dance Blast’s flagship ballet programme and exists to nurture young talented dancers who show the required aptitude and desire for a possible future career in classical ballet. It is designed to compliment their existing dance training and give young talented dancers the opportunity to develop their skills further working with professional ballet dancers and teachers from across the country.

The programme focuses on enhancing technique, building core strength and developing expression MBA is NOT exam based.

All students must continue training with their local dance teacher.

MBA is available for boys and girls from the ages of 8 -18years.

Ensuring Progression Routes for Young Dancers:

MBA is keen to ensure there are opportunities for young dancers to develop their dance skills and excel. MBA is a vehicle to ensure this progression, which is achieved in a number of ways which include:

Bi- weekly intensive technique coaching sessions.

Experience opportunities working with professional ballet dancers from across the country.

Advice and support for those wishing to pursue a career in dance.

Performance opportunities- including at Dance Blast’s annual showcase at the Borough Theatre Abergavenny and in partnership with Monmouthshire Youth Dance Company*

Opportunities to experience additional dance styles including contemporary and expressive dance.(if requested)

Recommending MBA members to audition/take part in Ballet Cmyru summer schools// National Youth Dance Wales// National Dance Company of Wales Associates.
