Why Support Us?

A message from a parent:

If you’ve experienced Dance Blast for yourself – as a participant, parent/carer, or audience member – you’ll have experienced for yourself what a fantastic experience it offers, and how important it is to those who take part.

Whether you’re a participant, parent/carer, audience member or potential funder/supporter, what you may not know is that …

Dance Blast really needs our help
Organisations like Dance Blast survive on a shoestring. They keep their prices low to ensure that everyone is able to participate – not just people who can afford to. They also work with groups who otherwise may not have opportunities to participate – in dance, or in life or society. For this reason, they rely on grants, donations, and voluntary support, in addition to the small amount of fees they charge. This in turn benefits all participants, because it makes Dance Blast what it is: a creative, community-focused, organisation.

Dance Blast makes a difference – to our children and to our communities
As you’ll know, the children who take part in Dance Blast get so much more out of it than just ‘learning to dance’. It contributes to their fitness and wellbeing, self-esteem and confidence, friendships and social networks, hopes and aspirations. It broadens their horizons and helps them with a range of skills including team-work, creative thinking, concentration and self-discipline, memory and co-ordination. And including everyone makes for a more inclusive community and society.

We can make a difference
No-one likes to ask other people for money, which is why I’ve asked Dance Blast if I can write this message on their behalf. With just a small amount of help from each of us – just £20 to join Dance Blast Friends – together we can make sure that our children can continue to create, participate and enjoy taking part in, dance.

You can also lend a hand by volunteering your time and skills.

Thanks for taking the time to read this,

Anita Holford, parent of a past Dance Blast Junior, Monmouth.
